Fisher Maritime Offers Video Presentation of Highly Popular Course on Contract Management for Ship Construction, Repair And Design.

Dr. Kenneth Fisher has already given 22 well-received video presentations of this course after having given over 400 on-site presentations world-wide to 5600 participants.

The four-session course provides invaluable knowledge on issues faced in shipyard projects that typically rely on concurrent use of multiple contracts involving the shipyard; the owner’s design consultancy; the shipyard’s detail designers; classification; owner equipment vendors; shipyard subcontractors and others.  Coordination of those contracts is essential to project success.

Frequently recurring errors and problems in shipyard projects have several major origins, which can occur on both the owner’s and the shipyard’s side. These include insufficient project planning and resource commitments, incomplete preparation of specs and contract plans, delays in arranging subcontracts and procuring equipment, and lack of coordination of multiple contracts, among other issues. Course attendees will learn how to avoid these costly and project-delaying issues.

The course consists of 2.5-hour Zoom sessions each of four days, with a Zoom invitation sent to registrants several days before the course begins. Each participant will receive a PDF of the course notebook, as well as a personal printed copy of Dr. Fisher’s recent book “Shipyard Projects: Planning and Management — Insights, Lessons & Guidance,” which provides case-study examples of subjects discussed during the Zoom presentations. Each day’s session includes ample time for Q&As.
